Lyn Mynott

Chair/Chief Executive of Thyroid UK

Lyn Mynott is the founder of Thyroid UK.  Lyn was ill for 15 years with many signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism.  Her thyroid blood test results were normal and so were many other tests that she had done.

When she was finally put onto levothyroxine, her symptoms slowly went away and she was able to work again and take part in normal family activities.

She decided that she didn’t want other people to go through the same thing and started campaigning, eventually setting up Thyroid UK and becoming a trustee.

She is also the Chief Executive and runs the office, working on projects that she believes will change the way patients with thyroid disease are diagnosed and treated.

Dr Sam Rodgers, MBBS, MRCGP

Medical Director for Medichecks

Dr Sam Rodgers has worked as a GP in and around central London for the past 12 years. He enjoys general practice because of the wide range of people that it lets him encounter, and the broad range of knowledge that is utilised in meeting their needs.

He is passionate about the use of information technology to improve health and has worked on a range of projects aiming to improve the healthcare of up to 2 million people in North West London.

He now works as the Medical Director for Medichecks and since joining has been surprised and excited to discover so many people with thyroid problems using the company to better manage their own healthcare. He has always recognised that the more engaged and knowledgeable people are about their illnesses, the better they will manage their own health. He is now working hard to increase the depth and breadth of his knowledge about thyroid issues so that he can better advise the customers of Medichecks.

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters and four cats, and can often be found practising his interest in photography in the streets of central London.
